What do artists do in spring?
A miniseries about performance art
They go for a walk around the city or take trips to the countryside. And most importantly – they have their eyes open and transform the world around them into a work of art. What is your most favorite activity at this time of the year?
In this mini-series, we are introducing the famous works of Slovak performance artists. They include Alex Mlynárčik, Jana Želibská, Július Koller, Ľubomír Ďurček, Michal Kern, Dezider Tóth, Vladimír Kordoš and others.
Many artistic performances in the period from the end of 1960s to 1980s emerged in the city, in the countryside or in the artists’ apartments. Some were co-authored by their colleagues, others involved random passers-by, or were created when walking alone in the countryside. Perhaps they remind you of an experience you had in the countryside or in the city, or they inspire you to create your own "performance" for your family or friends, which makes you see the world through new eyes. If you wish to share your view of things with us, we will gladly review it at vzdelavanie@kunsthallebratislava.sk.
